Help Fight Cancer; Just Walk or Run!

Lace up your tennis shoes, Maiden Rock Apples is hosting the Nature Walk/Run for Life with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society! Co-sponsored with the West Wisconsin Land Trust (WWLT), the Nature Walk/Run for Life is a non-competitive event that allows participants to enjoy a 5K (3 mile) walk or run while following a designated course through the scenic West Wisconsin Land Trust’s Maiden Rock Bluff Natural Area. Cancer survivors, families, friends and others affected by cancer celebrate life while raising funds to find a cure and help cancer patients.

Activities include a send-off through the apple blossoms and an opportunity to learn more regarding the Natural Area from WWLT staff at the site. Following your walk/run, enjoy music by The KGB Band, picnic on the grounds with sandwiches and snack available at the orchard, and bid on the special items available at the Silent Auction.

Consider helping your community’s fight against cancer by running or walking in honor or memory of a loved one who has battled cancer. Get a group together and enjoy the camaraderie as you assist in fighting cancer. Registration fee is $10/person before May 1st and $15/person afterwards.

The proceeds from the Nature Walk/Run for Life will benefit The American Cancer Society, which is the nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
